Smoke Signals

Believe it or not but this is something* I do (almost) every morning...

I thought it was interesting to see the smoke from the incense stick make a straight line...well, an almost straight line . And that is all the story there is to it. Go figure the science if you are the nerdy kind.

* Not sending smoke signals but lighting the lamp...in case you are wondering

Rainydays and Thursdays

Makes you....want to stay home and indulge in useless nothings. But that is something I cannot afford. And so, I am in campus working ( taking only a teeny bit time off to blog) and doing many "useful" things and acting all indispensable.
Meanwhile as it rains I am in the mood to listen to some Indian melody..and may I recommend Subha Mugdal. I love Ms Mugdal's voice and she may be singing of sunshine, shades and what not..but it somehow fits the current weather and my state of mind.
Oh and here is a glimpse of my small, soaked in the rain backyard corner...
You see those tiny bottles on the wall..I painted them using glass color. It did not require any stroke of genius on my part. Just bought the color, bought the brush and paint paint paint. The other one is a recycled Sake bottle. Oh Sake!--yum!

(PS: I realize there is something fundamentally wrong using yum and alcohol in the same sentence. Any kids reading this- I was just kidding. No, not yum, it's actually yuck)

Before I lose it any further-adios!

A favorite blogger off on a sabbatical--thou shall be missed!

My House in The Woods

Its a sleepy Tuesday afternoon for me and as I lazed around my desk checking on some of my favorite blogs, I stumbled across this article and these images via pinterest. BTW this is my(future) holiday home in the woods! All photos courtesy of Richard Olsen via Pinterest

Something very eco-logical about the house and it speaks to my bohemian, earthy sensibilities.
